The specialty of the steel:

T8 is a carbon tool steel; hardened plastic mold steel. After quenching and tempering, it has high hardness and wear resistance, but low hot hardness, poor hardenability, easy deformation, low plasticity and strength.

Main uses:

Used for various tools that require high hardness and wear resistance, such as simple-shaped molds and punches, metal cutting tools, drilling tools, woodworking milling cutters, countersinks, axes, chisels, longitudinal hand saws, as well as benchwork assembly tools, rivet dies and other minor tools. It is not easy to make tools that withstand large impacts.
